Police are also involved with illicit drug deals with Melbourne's well established drug families.

The involvement also extends to supporting extortion by 'bikie' gangs, which liaise with police regularly.

Corrupt police (not only) operate in Melbourne's well heeled Northern and Western region crime families, but also with the support of the Australian Tax Office (ATO) with harboring the proceeds of crime.

Crime does pay in Australia, but not when you're common criminal, or if one is supported by the corrupt legal system.
