Premier backs council use of CCTV cameras

The NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell says the government is prepared to legislate to ensure the continued use of CCTV cameras on NSW streets after a surprise ruling by a tribunal found they breach privacy.

"CCTV has proven essential in assisting police – most recently in the brutal rape and murder of Melbourne woman Jill Meagher," said Mr O'Farrell today.

Shoalhaven Council was forced to turn off its CCTV cameras in the Nowra CBD yesterday after a decision by the Adminstrative Decisions Tribunal that a man's privacy had been breached.

"CCTV is a vital tool in the fight against crime and I am determined to ensure they remain so," Mr O'Farrell said.

"I've asked the Attorney General to seek urgent advice on the implications and whether legislative amendments are required to validate the continued use of CCTV."

By political design, cameras have the purpose to monitor the masses, under other pretexts, i.e. rape of women, safety of children and the like, and NOT to protect them nor to 'prevent crime' as touted by the political spinsters.

Cameras do not and will not prevent crime, but rather are used as a tool for finding the offender after the criminal fact.

The civil liberties of the herd population are being eroded with little resistance.

It's all part of the bigger plan of government monitoring the movements of every single person.

One technology cannot be relied upon, so various methods are employed.
