Indue welfare card, Liberal party’s money laundering machine

For those who are not familiar with what’s going on in the ’land down under’ or more technically in the colony we call Australia, a new era of fascism is about to be installed on the entire population that require welfare support.

The Liberal party have conjured up a brilliant money laundering operation under the label of the Indue welfare debit card.

It’s initial implementation is to apparently ‘help’ the vulnerable on welfare so that they do not waste their benefits on abusive substances, where initially it is on trial in the outback.

Upon further investigation is has been found that the so called goals are not met, where the cashless card is a failure.

Not to worry, that’s just a minor ‘technical’ detail, where the next step is for ‘Scotty from marketing’ or as others describe him 'Scumo', to roll it out nationally for every single person on welfare.

Your (the mums and dads taxpayers, and not corporations) tax dollars are used to set up fraudulent corporations and expensive software that feeds the Indue card system in order to control you and your movements (how VERY fascist).

Oh, don’t worry, in this police state, there will no federal investigation into the Liberal party’s money laundering operation called the Indue card, nor will there be any ‘royal commission’, where if there ever was one it would be a farce, and there certainly ain’t gonna be any sacked MPs but rather healthy dividends shared among the brotherhood.

Keep using plastic, you're just making it easier for them.

The cash card is for junkies who can't stop wasting their money on drugs it's not going to be for every single welfare recipient as for it being a failure it's not also it's voluntary for anyone who wants to have it and mandatory if you are found and proven to be addicted to illegal substance and to be honest if your receiving welfare you should be spending it on living expenses the only people opposed to the card are the people who are using the money for things welfare money shouldn't be used for if people don't bloody like it get a job and then you can do what you want with the money

Charmu, with respect, I have to tell you that much of what you said in your first comment is incorrect. The Cashless Welfare Card, CDC, also known as the Indue Card is for everyone on unemployment or other benefits in the trial areas, no-one has a choice except those outside of those areas who can elect to have one. Many have been put on it while visiting those areas and now, can't get off it.

Despite the clearly stated opt out option, out of hundreds of applications to get an exemption, not one has been given. So much for opting out! There are plenty of people who have lived on the pathetically low amount and have managed well, now they have 80% of the income quarantined and have monies deducted from their account for services they didn't want or ask for. Every enquiry into why something has happened to a person's account is charged $10. Some have lost houses, because mortgage payments weren't made on time, the same for renters. Others have lost cars, for the same reason. Many have been refused payment at the checkout. Women in violent situations have become trapped because they can't get money together to run, let alone bond money or second hand furniture for a new rental. Payment for pathetic things like a Christening gown, bottled water, school excursions and loads more, have been refused. If you want to buy something on Gumtree, you have to send in all the details and wait for up to a fortnight only to be refused in the majority of cases anyway.

Those with drug and or alcohol problems find ways around the card, like blow jobs for cash, true! While those who have managed normally before this card, are punished by this punitive card.

Truly, if you want to really know what the actual truth of the card is, can I recommend going to the "NO cashless welfare debit card Australia" Facebook page and read just a few of the entries there. The Say No 7 page is similar. It will be rolled out Australia wide in the not too distant future, this is certain and what is also certain is that it will cost around several thousand dollars of tax payers money to manage each card each year. Soon it will be the Big 4 banks that will manage the card and we all know how honest, trustworthy and up front they are!

Oh, by the way, the money that is by law the property of the recipient, is sent to the USA and then sent back to the rightful owner, changing currency twice on the way is a disgusting waste of money as each time it loses a little bit of value, but you're okay with that?

There is plenty of proof that the card is not reducing crime, or drug, alcohol dependence anywhere near like what this bunch of proven liars say it has. Sure it has helped some but for the majority, it's been nothing but a living nightmare. When the pushes of this nonsense say that 30% or 40% have gotten benefit from the card, that really means that 70 or 60% have not!

Are you or your parents pensioners yet? How would you feel if 80% of your or their income is quarantined and they were only able to spend at certain shops, because it's coming? Like me, I've done okay for some time on the pension and fail to understand how quarantining most of my income is going to help me budget any better than I already am, especially given that there will be a loss because of those sneaky charges, and then there's the stuff ups, the checkout refusals and other inconveniences. See one of the Facebook pages for a very complete list of minor teething problems that have been going on for 4 years. If they were a store, they'd have gone bankrupt ages ago, but luckily they are government funded to the tune of millions and from what I read in your comment, you are quite okay with that! Sad.

Thanks, Paul, for setting that out. Let's hope s/he reads it. It costs $12,000 for each card, then Indue charges $12,000 a year to adminster each card.

That's people's taxes, off to enrich a private company.

And where are these jobs? Especially now, when much of the country has been shut down. Even before every entry level vacancy had 19 people competing for it.

If you're over 45, you can pretty much forget about ever getting another job, no matter how great your qualifications and experience are. And that's worse if you're a woman.

So, before you make ignorant comments like that, do a bit of research.
