Chad Fletcher pleads guilty to possession

Former AFL West Coast Eagles midfielder Chad Fletcher has pleaded guilty in a Sydney court to a charge of possessing a prohibited drug.

Fletcher, 31, of Bellevue Hill in Sydney's east, appeared on Wednesday in Downing Central Local Court where his sentencing was delayed until next month.

Police had alleged that during a patrol of toilets at Hugos nightclub in Kings Cross on August 21, Fletcher was found in possession of a plastic resealable bag containing cocaine.

Fletcher's lawyer, Chris Murphy, told Magistrate Julie Huber on Wednesday the experience had been a "salutary lesson" for his client.

"One act of stupidity has put everything at risk," Mr Murphy told the court.

"He is desperately concerned that with this one act of stupidity he may lose the residue of his time in the spotlight.

"His reputation is very important to him."

Fletcher, who works as a sales representative, spent the 2010 season playing for Sydney's Balmain Dockers.

Ms Huber adjourned sentencing pending the outcome of independent psychiatric reports on Fletcher's chances of reoffending and rehabilitation.

His case is now set down for December 15.

Another sporting 'STAR' (read LOSER), who is put up on a pedestal.

The mass media, puts Australian footballers, on a pedestal, as if they are some sort of GODS of SPORT, where in reality, on the global scale, financially, they are nobodies.

These people are in the spotlight and OFTEN show how they get away with criminal acts.

True role models for the impressionable youth.

Drugs are ILLEGAL.

Watch as the Anglo - Masonic court system gives hand outs (lollies) to these criminals.

JAIL the user AND JAIL the supplier.

All this is concealled in court and hushed
