Boyfriend let girl burn to death

A man in the UK left his girlfriend to burn to death in his car after he crashed into a tree while drink-driving.

Waqas Arshad, 24, told emergency workers no-one was inside the burning wreckage despite knowing 17-year-old Emily Brady was trapped in the car, the UK's Daily Mail reports.

Ms Brady's body — strapped into the passenger seat — was not found until firefighters began tackling the blaze at Befordshire in central England, a court has heard.

According to prosecutor Natalie Carter, the teen survived the initial impact of the accident despite breaking two vertebrae but died from carbonisation.

She said that after getting out of the burning car, Arshad made no move to call for help or pull his girlfriend from the wreckage.

The court heard how a witness speaking to firefighters asked Arshad if anyone was inside the car and he replied "no".

The couple, who had been dating for about six months, were out drinking on the night the accident occurred.

"It was despicable behaviour to make no attempt to try and pull her out of the car," Miss Brady's mother Patricia told the Daily Mail after the court hearing.

Arshad has pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving while over the alcohol limit and causing death by driving while uninsured.

After being released on bail following the accident, Arshad was also arrested for another drink driving offence.

He is due to be sentenced next month.

Courts release criminals like this, KNOWING that they are likely to re-offend, endangering the community and KILLING other innocent people.

It is of little consequence that innocent people are killed, as they are NO relation to the system in power.

Example of this are the NORM rather than an exception.
