Governments and corporations want 'consumers' to use smartphones for ALL their online activities, as they provide people in those organisations with more data than a privacy focused PC & browser ever would give up.
A 'standard' browser (e.g. Chrome, Edge, Safari) is also an application or program that gives away plenty of information about the user, so much so that you can be 'fingerprinted' from just the browser you're using.
A tool, from PrivacyTests.org can be used to determine how much information and what sort of information your browser is leaking.
