TWEETING your grief at the passing of a Hollywood legend shows you
have heart. But getting that legend confused with some other Mickey just
shows you might be missing in brains.
Scott Feinberg, of
The Hollywood Reporter, took to Twitter today to share a series of
tweets from so-called film fans who confused the pint-sized Hollywood
legend with tough-guy Mickey Rourke. One was best known as the star of The Andy Hardy series. The other is best known for his Oscar nominated performance in The Wrestler. One had a cheeky grin, the other has a face only a mother could love — assuming that mother had problems with her vision.
Feinberg summed up those who failed to think before they tweeted in a tweet of his own:
“Our society is lost to morons.”

How sad that Mickey Rooney passes away the same day as Wrestlemania, he was brilliant in 'The Wrestler'. #YNWA

Bad news about Mickey Rooney, bloody good
actor, and an inspiration to ugly blokes everywhere. I thought The
Wrestler was his highlight.
