NSW ID card a 'gift to terrorists'

The Photo Card Bill 2004, which passed through the New South Wales Legislative Assembly today, has been described as a "gift to organised criminals, terrorists, and other people intent on doing harm" by the Australian Privacy Foundation.

"This Bill has seen almost no debate, and no public consultation -- yet it introduces the most fundamental attack on our personal freedom since the failed 'Australia Card' proposal of the 1980s," said Anna Johnston, chairperson of the APF.

Labor state MP and parliamentary secretary Tony Stewart first introduced the bill last December with the intent to authorise the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) to introduce a state photo card for those who had no driver's licence, proof of age card, or other forms of identification such as a passport or photo birth card.

"Many people often have a need to produce some form of personal identification in order to secure goods and services. Businesses and government agencies also rely on a photo identification document to provide assurance that the person that they are dealing with is who they say they are. The NSW Government has been approached by numerous community groups asking for a NSW photo card," he previously said.

On behalf of then Roads Minister Carl Scully -- who first drafted the Bill -- Stewart denied that the NSW photo card was another 'Australia Card'.

"The card will be purely voluntary and will help those in the community who have a need for a photo card but cannot have one because they do not fit the criteria for other photo identification," Stewart said during the Bill's second reading.

However, APF's Johnston said the Bill was the "worst kind of Big Brother proposal" because it "places no limits on how much information the RTA can collect about people, and few limits on who can access the data". Additionally, she believes the centralised database required to realise the proposal is likely to increase the risk of identity theft and fraud.

"They will be able to track when you book a flight, borrow a video, post a gift overseas, or go to the pub. The Commonwealth Government has recognised the risks of centralising vast amounts of personal data -- it means only one database to hack into, or one clerk at the RTA to bribe," said Johnston.

"If the Coalition, minor parties and independents don't force amendments to this Bill, we will soon be seeing an Australia Card for NSW," she added.

An article from some time ago appears in different forms all over the place with the SAME MESSAGE.

Something that will inevitably happen, that we will pay for dearly

The cataloging of people is beyond our control, and circumstances have been manufactured in order to create a need for this, yet true criminal activities are suppressed from the public, and directly supported by various legal systems.

Prince Harry sorry for racist language

Britain's Prince Harry has apologised for using racist language after a Sunday newspaper reported he had filmed himself calling an army colleague a "Paki" and telling another he looked like a "raghead".

The video obtained by the News of the World plunges the 24-year-old prince, the third in line to the throne, into fresh controversy four years after he sparked outcry by wearing a Nazi swastika at a fancy dress party.

The newspaper posted the video on its website and said it was made in 2006 when the prince was still an officer cadet.

It begins as he is waiting with his platoon in an airport departure lounge for a flight to a training exercise in Cyprus.

Touring the room with a video camera as his colleagues snooze, he spots an Asian cadet and says: "Anybody else around here?... Ah, our little Paki friend, Ahmed."

"Paki" is a racist term for Indians or Pakistanis.

The royal family issued an apology, but insisted the prince had used the term without malice.

"Prince Harry fully understands how offensive this term can be, and is extremely sorry for any offence his words might cause," a spokesman said.

"However, on this occasion three years ago, Prince Harry used the term without any malice and as a nickname about a highly popular member of his platoon.

"There is no question that Prince Harry was in any way seeking to insult his friend."

The report said Harry made the "raghead" remark - a racist term for Arabs - while on the exercise.

Once again he is behind the camera when he spots one of his comrades with camouflage netting over his head and as he looks up at the lens, Harry says: "It's Dan the Man ... F... me, you look like a raghead."

The royal spokesman said: "Prince Harry used the term 'raghead' to mean Taliban or Iraqi insurgent."

The prince served with the army battling the Taliban in Afghanistan last year but was forced to return home after his security was compromised when a carefully arranged media blackout on his deployment was broken.

Harry, an army lieutenant, is to begin training soon as a combat helicopter pilot.

Britain's equalities watchdog, the Equality and Human Rights Commission, said the racism claims "appear to be disturbing allegations".

"We will be asking the MoD (Ministry of Defence) to see the evidence, share that evidence with us and their plans for dealing with it," a spokeswoman said.

"We will then consider what further action might be necessary."

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Defence said: "Neither the Army nor the Armed Forces tolerates inappropriate behaviour in any shape or form.

"The Army takes all allegations of inappropriate behaviour very seriously and all substantive allegations are investigated.

"We are not aware of any complaint having been made by the individual," the spokeswoman said, referring to "Ahmed".

She added: "Bullying and racism are not endemic in the Armed Forces."

In another clip from the three-minute video, Harry pretends to make a mobile phone call to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

He says: "Granny, I've got to go. Send my love to the corgis. And grandpa... God Save You... yeah, that's great. See you, bye."

It is not the first time that the youngest son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana has been forced to apologise for his actions.

His decision to attend a friend's fancy dress birthday party wearing a swastika armband in 2005 sparked widespread criticism. The publication of photographs of that incident was followed by a swift apology from the royals.

In the past, it emerged he had smoked cannabis as a teenager and he was once involved in a scuffle outside a nightclub with a paparazzi photographer, but in recent years Harry has sought to shake off his 'playboy prince' reputation.

He is heavily involved in a charity in Lesotho to support children orphaned by AIDS which was launched in memory of his mother, and is patron of several other children's charities.

AFP 11 Jan 2009.

The English aristocracy is RACIST, and they only breed within their restricted gene pool, hence their nickname the blue bloods.

Harry is MOST LIKELY the product of an affair.

They (the royals) are involved in these charities in order to LOOK GOOD only, as they consider the menial activities of the peasants revolting.

The term Paki is an abbreviation. If it is considered offensive, then the term Aussie should be considered offensive.

In Australia, the term WOG is aimed at Mediterranean Europeans, and is considered RACIST as it is ususally used in slander against the Europeans, BUT no one does anything about it.

If you call someone a slope, the you are branded a racist, BUT if they call you a wog, then there are NO repercussions.

The only thing Harry is sorry about, is that the matter is public.

I'll broke your neck

A wild teen party advertised on MySpace has this morning spilled over into an angry confrontation between residents in Melbourne's southwest, with the father of the party's host threatening to break a neighbour's neck.

Lori McLean, a 30-year resident of Werribee, marched up to the party house this morning and accused the teen host's father of turning the local community "feral".

"We have a wonderful town here," an emotional Mrs McLean, flanked by media, told Imerio Marangoni when he answered the door.

"I don't want your kids coming here and being feral in this area, I'll tell you now," the 68-year-old resident said, wagging her finger at Mr Marangoni, who is father to 18-year-old party host Mark.

"You don't like the party? You piss off," Mr Marangoni, 73, replied.

"No, you piss off," she screamed back.

"I broke [sic] your f****** neck," Mr Marangoni yelled as he closed the door.

"Yeah? Just try," she replied.

Mrs McLean said she was not surprised by the reception she received.

"That's the attitude of the parents, that's what they're like," she said, appearing to hold back tears.

"I'm very upset … I love this town and I'm not going to see those people destroy it."

Last night, police were forced to take cover as up to 100 drunken teenagers pelted them with rocks and bottles when they tried to break up a wild party advertised on social networking website MySpace.

Mr Marangoni blames the police for starting the trouble but said there would be no more parties at his house in Melbourne's south-west.

Four youths were arrested and more arrests may follow after the drunken teenage party spilled into Jika Court, Werribee, about 11.30pm (AEDT).

Mark Marangoni's Myspace message read, in part, "First 100 girls and first 100 guys get in ONLY. People who come in big groups wont (sic) get in, as space will get filled up quickly. There will be security at the door $5 entry fee due to damages from previous parties".

One of the first police on the scene, Werribee Acting Sergeant Jane Boyd, said police were called to break up a fight.

The youths hurled missiles when police ordered the rowdy gathering to shut down, she said.

"They got into a large group at the end of the court and started throwing rocks and bottles," she told AAP.

A divisional van was dented as the two police units came under attack.

It was five long minutes before back-up arrived, she said.

"It was frightening, and because it's so dark you don't see the missiles being thrown at you from the shadows," she said.

At least five more police cars, assisted by a dog squad unit and the police helicopter, took more than half an hour to regain control of Jika Court and several neighbouring streets.

Detectives are investigating, Sgt Boyd said.

Neighbour Nicole Webster said "at least 200 people" turned on the police.

"There was a tyre iron and a pitchfork and bricks. I just saw stuff going everywhere," she told AAP.

"I was just hiding in my garden trying to tell some of the kids to go home, telling them to nicely go away."

With bank notes visible in his short pocket, Mark's father, Imerio Marangoni, 73, said people aged between 14 and 18 had paid to attend the party.

"The people spend money, come here, pay money to enjoy," he said.

He said Mark was "upset" and had left the house on foot and blamed police for provoking party-goers.

"They come in, tell people to piss off but they were at the party to enjoy. It's (a) disaster."

"Two hundred people, all young, you can't control them when they drink." But he said Mark, who normally lives with his mother, would not host another party at his house.

"No. No more parties. No, no."

Mark's younger brother Matteo, 16, was ordered by police to clean up the debris in the street.

Too much emphasis is put on by the media into menial stories with no significance.

It detracts the focus from much more important events in society.

The media glorifies 'party losers' as the in-thing.

Stories like this are entertained in this blog for PURE COMIC RELIEF.

Which Bank? The Commonwealth

As the name implies, a bank for everyone? a bank for the commoners? a bank owned by the state / government? In actual fact, the name cannot be further from reality, a fact deliberately omitted by the ACCC as FALSE ADVERTISING.

Each branch of the Commonwealth Bank is privately owned, i.e an Autonomous business, which is 50% owned by the bank's branch director, a fact NOT publicly mentioned.

A few years ago, consumers were angry at branches closing, in the remote Outback, in areas deemed by the director, as non profitable, as it was NOT about providing a service for the people, as previously named banks (e.g State Bank) suggested, but about profiteering.

Naturally, as with ALL private businesses, it is susceptible to 'bankruptcy', a trend that will emerge later.

Victoria University Closeure

In accordance with governmental policies to 'not educate the peasants', another statistic will be added to the list.

What is the norm is that schools for the 'peasants' are demolished, and taken over by corporate enterprise in what can only be described as 'money for mates' deals.

In its current infancy, the plan is to shut down Victoria University's Sunbury Campus.

In order to achieve this it must be shown that the University is not profitable. The directive has been given to the decision makers at the University (names are with held to protect the guilty) to 'shut down' courses, and limit availability to the students, thus not enticing them to study there.

A report will be then produced that will show (justify) financial reasons to close the University due to lack of students, thus mission accomplished.

This will happen in 2009/2010.

Cheney defends 'terror' war policies

(Warmonger Cheney, laughing at you)

US Vice President Dick Cheney has defended controversial interrogation methods used in the US "war on terror".

He also said he was not sure if al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden was still alive. ( So your Multi Billion Dollar Military campaigne cannot fine ONE person??? You should be DISMISSED!!!)

In an interview one month before his eight-year term in office ends, Cheney rejected accusations that the treatment of terror suspects amounted to torture and violated US law, saying the administration's policies helped prevent another terrorist strike on the country.

"Given the kind of conflict we're faced with today, we find ourselves in a situation where I believe you need strong executive leadership. What we did in this administration is to exert that kind of authority," Cheney told Fox News.

Cheney said the administration of President George W Bush had acted appropriately in its "war on terror" after the September 11, 2001 attacks and had followed legal precedent, citing previous presidents, including Abraham Lincoln during the US civil war and Franklin Roosevelt during World War II.

"There's ample precedent for it," he said, saying Bush had not gone as far as Lincoln and Roosevelt in using his wartime authority.

At a time of war, he said the president's responsibilities include collecting intelligence, "and therefore I think you're fully justified in setting up a terror surveillance program to be able to intercept the communications of people who are communicating with terrorists outside the United States".

"I think you can have a robust interrogation program with respect to high value detainees," Cheney said.

"Now, those are all steps we took that I believe the president was fully authorised in taking, and provided invaluable intelligence, which has been the key to our ability to defeat al-Qaeda over these last seven years."

The administration has been sharply criticised at home and abroad over its treatment of terror suspects, including the use of harsh interrogation techniques widely condemned as torture, detaining suspects without charge at the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba and running an unwarranted domestic surveillance programs.

Cheney also said he was unsure if bin Laden was still living.

"I don't know and I'm guessing he is," Cheney said when asked if the world's most wanted man was alive.

"We've had certain pieces of evidence become available from time to time, there'll be a photograph released or something that allows the intelligence community to judge that he is still alive."

Cheney said the administration had dealt major setbacks to bin Laden's al-Qaeda network and still hoped to capture him.

"He's been holed up in a way where he's not even been communicating. There are questions about whether he's even running the operation. But we have had major success against the organisation," Cheney said.

"Capturing Osama bin Laden is something clearly we'd love to do. There are 30 days left."

(What happens after that??? !!! ??? He (Osama) get a GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD ???)

Bin Laden has claimed responsibility for the September 11 attacks against New York and Washington that killed nearly 3,000 people and prompted the US-led invasion of Afghanistan. US officials believe bin Laden is holed up near the rugged Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

(THE US has satellites that can read the numberplates of Trucks in the desert, but no one can find a 6ft 4" person on a camel ??? !!! ??? Looks like the American Public has been duped, yet again !!!

Maybe it is due to the Rooservelt Education System, that creates Lemmings with an average mental capacity of a 13 year old.)

Despite a massive manhunt and a $US25 million ($A36.62 million) bounty on his head, he has evaded capture and has regularly taunted the United States and its allies through warnings issued over the Internet.

Cheney also defended his view of sweeping presidential authority and the legal role of his own office, dismissing comments from his successor, vice president-elect Joseph Biden, who has said Cheney had overstepped his constitutional role.

"If he wants to diminish the office of the vice president, that's obviously his call," Cheney said.

"President-elect Obama will decide what he wants in a vice president and apparently, from the way they're talking about it, he does not expect him to have as consequential a role as I have had during my time."

Cheney also acknowledged that he had opposed Bush's decision to fire former defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld in 2006.

"I did disagree with the decision," Cheney said. "The president doesn't always take my advice."

Asked about the administration's dismal approval ratings, Cheney said history would vindicate him and Bush.

And regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions, asked if he believed diplomacy could "solve this", Cheney answered: "Ah, that's the policy the administration. And I support the policy of the administration.

"I hope it can. That's clearly what we've tried."

Qld pedophile swam with boy: police

A notorious pedophile has allegedly breached the conditions of his release by swimming in a waterhole with a 13-year-old boy.

Mark Anthony Foy, 47, was taken into custody on Thursday night after allegedly breaching his supervision order the previous day.

Documents filed in the Supreme Court in Brisbane allege Foy was swimming in a disused quarry at Chuwar, west of Brisbane, when he was spotted by police.

The documents show police had chanced upon him when they noticed his empty car at the entrance to the quarry.

A registration check revealed it was Foy's, who was flagged as a person of interest, the documents state.

It's alleged police walked down to the water where they found Foy swimming and chatting with two boys aged 16 and 13.

Under the conditions of his community-based supervision order, Foy is forbidden from having contact with children under 16.

He briefly appeared in the Supreme Court on Friday and was remanded in custody until a hearing into the alleged breach can take place.

No date has yet been set for the hearing.

It is the third time Foy has been returned to custody since he was released from prison on a Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act supervision order in January 2005.

He returned to jail in March 2007 after being caught selling morphine to an undercover police officer and then spitting in his face, and again in November that year for talking to two children aged 12 and 14.

Foy served four and a half years' jail for offences against nine children aged between six and 12.

His supervision order does not expire until January 2015.

Another CLEAR EXAMPLE of how the Australian Law system Fails to protect children, and technically is in support of the CRIMINAL. It just let out a pedophile into the community.

Smacking a child will be against the law soon, but a letting out a sexual predator to molest children WILL / IS supported by the law.

IN THE GOVERNMENT WE TRUST OUR CHILDREN, JUST LIKE THE STOLEN GENERATIONS.

Bush shoe attacker to face court

The trial of Muntazer al-Zaidi, the Iraqi man who hurled his shoes at US President George W Bush, will start on December 31, the judge investigating his case says.

Zaidi could face up to 15 years in jail.

"The investigation phase is over and the case has been transferred to the Central Criminal Court," investigating judge Dhiya al-Kenani told AFP on Monday.

"The trial will start on Wednesday, December 31."

The journalist stands accused of "aggression against a foreign head of state during an official visit," an offence that carries a prison term of between five and 15 years under Iraqi law.

But the court could convict him of the lesser charge of an "attempted aggression" which carries a prison term of one to five years.

His lawyer had asked that the case against Zaidi be transferred from the central criminal court, which handles terrorism cases, to an ordinary tribunal but the judge refused.

Zaidi, 29, became a hero to many when he threw his shoes at Bush during the US president's surprise visit to Iraq on December 14, an action considered a grave insult in the Arab world.

The journalist for private Iraqi television station Al-Baghdadia was wrestled to the ground by security guards and is planning to sue over injuries caused, his lawyer Dhiya al-Saadi said on Sunday.

"There are bruises on his body. He has lost a tooth in his upper jaw, and his left eye is bloodshot," the lawyer said, adding that the list of injuries is backed up by medical checks.

Zaidi's actions were hailed by many in the Arab world who considered it an ideal parting gift to a deeply unpopular Bush, who ordered the 2003 invasion of Iraq that triggered years of deadly insurgency and sectarian conflict.

His family has been demonstrating in a park near the central Baghdad government compound to demand his release from custody.

One of the GREATEST COMEDIES of Modern Times is the Bush Administration, at the expense of the Liberties of Americans, later the Western World.

There was NO CRAZED GUNMAN as with John Fitzgerald Kennedy or Abraham Lincoln, just a Muppet throwing a shoe.

Bush, and his Nazi supporting grandfather, have committed more crimes against humanity than JFK or Abe, but there has been no 'retard' to assassinate him.

One of the reasons JFK was assassinated was because the wanted to bring back the "GREEN BACK", something the financiers could NOT let happen.

AFL player facing charges over 'rampage'

(Illustration: Another Footballer who qualifies for the Special Olympics).

Hawthorn ruckman Brent Renouf is expected to be charged with criminal damage offences after being arrested by police over the weekend.
The 20-year-old premiership player allegedly leapt onto the boot of a car parked on Burwood Rd, Hawthorn near the Geebung Polo Club, the Herald-Sun reports.
Police confirmed the man was apprehended by police on nearby Henry St at around 1am Sunday.
A spokeswoman told the Herald Sun the player would be charged on summons.
Renouf, who played seven games in his debut season in 2008 including the grand final victory over Geelong, has accepted full responsibility for the incident and will pay for all damages incurred.
A second Hawthorn player was a bystander to the incident and has been cleared of any involvement.
"Brent understands that he made some poor choices in relation to alcohol and social behaviour," Hawthorn football operations general manager Mark Evans said.
"Brent will personally meet the cost of damage to the vehicles.
"Hawthorn Football Club players and staff take their social and community responsibility very seriously and no-one is more disappointed than the player himself at his actions."
Renouf's likely to face further sanctions from the club after meeting with Hawthorn management and the leadership group.
The Geebung Polo Club is a favoured venue for AFL stars and was in the spotlight during the Collingwood drink-drive scandal earlier this year.
Heath Shaw ploughed into two cars after leaving the hotel with a .144 blood-alcohol limit and teammate Alan Didak was suspended by the 'Pies after lying about being in the car at the time of the accident.
This latest scandal will not be welcomed by the AFL, which has managed to generate some positive publicity about Ben Cousins' comeback after his headline-grabbing fall from grace.
Cousins returned to the spotlight last week to announce his signing with Richmond — and also to distance himself from alleged underworld figure Angelo Venditti.

Govt plans to halve homeless Australians

The federal government is aiming to halve the number of homeless Australians and accommodate all those sleeping rough under an ambitious new plan.

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd on Sunday launched the government's White Paper in Sydney, which commits $1.2 billion over four years to building new housing and increasing services to prevent homelessness.
The funding is the first stage in a plan to halve homelessness and boost accommodation by 2020, and comes on top of the government's $6.1 billion affordable housing program.
The Commonwealth will fund $800 million of the new program, and the states $400 million.
"A country like this should not have this problem," Mr Rudd said at the launch.
"It's time we had a decent solution to this problem that has been around for a long time."
Every night in Australia, 105,000 people are homeless. About 16,000 of those sleep rough on the streets, Mr Rudd said.
"As a nation we can do a lot better than that," Mr Rudd said.

AAP 21 Dec 2008

Another empty promise (???) just like:
the Hawke Government's " No child shall live in poverty"
Keating's : "Australia the smart country"

Update: Crisis 'could impede homeless plan' : Might be just the ticket the Government was looking for to get out of this one.

PART SOLUTION: Mr. KRudd How about we do NOT import 1000 people per week into Victoria, as it is quite clear that we cannot afford to SUSTAIN these people with our current infrastructure with WATER, PUBLIC TRANSPORT and CURRENT ROADS.
