A QUEENSLANDER who killed a teenage girl in a jet-ski crash in
Hawaii is profiting from the tragedy after securing a paid interview
with New Idea magazine.
Tyson Dagley's dream holiday to Hawaii with girlfriend Natasha Ryan last month ended in jail time when he hit and killed 16-year-old Californian girl Kristen Fonseca on a jet-ski.Dagley's father, Alan, this week told The Courier-Mail he and his son could not be interviewed because they had agreed to do an interview with the magazine.
Mr Dagley said selling the story was not about the money and refused to be interviewed because of the agreement.
Tyson Dagley's mother, Ann, yesterday admitted her husband should not have revealed these details about the interview.
"Yes, that's was a slip that shouldn't have come out, yes we have (agreed to do an interview with the magazine)," she said.
"What's the difference whether we get paid or we don't?"
New Idea would not comment yesterday.
Dagley was charged with negligent homicide over the girl's death and spent 12 days in jail in Hawaii.
He pleaded no contest to the charge on August 25 and was ordered by Circuit Judge Richard Perkins to pay $US78,000 in restitution to Ms Fonseca's family.

Australia's trash mag New Idea profiteering from the death of an innocent person in the hands, showing to the masses that one can earn lots of money from crime and now (negligent homicide) murder.
If there was nothing ethically wrong from the perspective from management, then surely they would be able to comment
