These mouse mats are manufactured in China, and are imported to Australia for HUGE profit.
The same mats are available from the 'swap' meets, or even other retailers for $1 each, and not the rounded up $15 from Officeworks.
Another example of how globalisation is ONLY for the benefit to the business community.
