Police raid on city candidate

THE election of Melbourne's next lord mayor and council was rocked yesterday by a Victoria Police raid on Azeezur Rahaman, a candidate and local education entrepreneur, as part of an investigation into vote-rigging.

Police seized computers, mobile phones and documents from the home and Queen Street office of Mr Rahaman, owner of the multimillion-dollar Southern Cross Education Institute. Mr Rahaman, 36, is running on the team headed by lord mayor candidate and 2009 Victorian of the Year Berhan Ahmed.

The police were acting on a request from the Local Government Investigation and Compliance Inspectorate, which made its move on Mr Rahaman after a five-week investigation tracking a batch of about 500 suspect voter applications. These were discovered by the City of Melbourne and revealed in The Age last month.

Mr Ahmed, when contacted by The Age yesterday afternoon in Saudi Arabia, said he had no knowledge of the so-called ''vote harvesting'' scheme. ''That's shocking, to be honest with you. That is shocking,'' he said. Mr Rahaman and his manager, Australian Labor Party member and former Hobsons Bay mayor Bill Tehan, did not return phone calls yesterday.

The outcome of Saturday's city election will not be affected by the suspect vote applications as the council has removed them from the certified roll. The fraudulent batch of votes included anomalies such as 25 people living in a one-bedroom apartment and another 30 living at an address with no physical building.

As the No. 1 candidate for one of the nine main leadership teams, Mr Rahaman may be elected to council this weekend. Most residents have already lodged their postal votes and voting closes on Friday afternoon. If elected, Mr Rahaman will not need to stand down unless he is proven guilty of offences under the Local Government Act.

Following the raids, the Melbourne Magistrates Court agreed to Victoria Police's request to turn items over to the inspectorate for examination and analysis.

''Anyone convicted of these offences would face penalties of up to five years' imprisonment and heavy fines,'' said Chief Municipal Inspector David Wolf.

''Convictions for offences of this nature are disqualifying offences, which would result in anyone involved being banned from holding the office of councillor for seven years,'' he said. ''It's important to remember that this investigation is ongoing, and everyone is entitled to the presumption of innocence.''

If the inspectorate collected any evidence, it would take weeks to prepare a brief and launch a prosecution.
The Southern Cross Education Institute is largely state-government funded, employs 110 people and teaches courses on childcare, business and aged-care to 1000 local and international students.

The latest developments come after a series of issues in the lead-up to the poll, including suggestions of bullying and ballot theft and calls from The Age for candidates to reveal their financial backers in a bid to promote transparency. The Age has also revealed Robert Doyle's team organised cash-for-access meetings with developers.

Mr Rahaman came to Melbourne in 2000 from India to study information technology at Swinburne University of Technology. In 2004, he started a small IT training company with money he had saved working nights at a petrol station. Three years later he opened the Southern Cross Education Institute, which now fills two floors of a Queen Street office tower. Initially, the business model was geared towards international students, but Mr Rahaman switched gear and now 60 per cent of his business is childcare, aged care, computer and pathology courses, mostly state government funded.

The business had a $7 million turnover last year.

In an interview with The Age earlier this week, Mr Rahaman said 80 per cent of his students were getting jobs.

Mr Rahaman told The Age the needs of poorer inner-city communities had been neglected by the council. He said he was standing for council ''to give something back'' and because no other candidate or councillor had his experience - of coming from another country, of working part time and studying.

''Really, I want to be there to bring that culture to the council,'' he said. ''I don't see a single person in the council [like that].''

This is only an example of what is really going on in politics around Australia.

It is obvious that Azeezur Rahaman was uncomfortable to the establishment.

Vote rigging is widespread across Australia, as outlined in an article:
Let's see if any other politicians will get nabbed.
Most likely not, as they are the protected ones.

"Gutless' council rejects Maccas fight

Protesters threaten to chain themselves to Tecoma McDonald's site to stop development

UPDATE 1.20pm: PROTESTERS have threatened to use militant tactics in their fight against a McDonald's in Tecoma.

Some protesters have vowed to chain themselves to the site to prevent the fast-food giant from building the restaurant in Burwood Highway, after Yarra Ranges Council last night rejected pleas to take the battle to the Supreme Court.
Tecoma resident and protester Natalie Walker today said some protesters would take the fight to the next level and use more militant tactics.
"Some of the group believe the law is an artificial constraint put upon them and will chain ourselves to bulldozers and resist police," Ms Walker said on the Facebook group No Maccas in the Hills.
But Ms Walker said many of the group protesting at the site were committed to non-violent methods of stopping the fast food giant coming to the town.

Hundreds of residents screamed "shame, shame" after Yarra Ranges Council last night rejected their pleas to go to the Supreme Court to fight against a McDonald's being built in the town.
VCAT approved the proposed seven-day, 24-hour fast food outlet in the town on October 10.

Lyster ward councillor Samantha Dunn put forward an urgent motion at the meeting for the council to take the VCAT decision to the Supreme Court in a last-ditch effort to stop the restaurant.

The council voted 6-3 against Cr Dunn's motion.

Angry residents shouted down the councillors and called them "gutless'', and worse, for not supporting them in stopping the fast food giant coming to the community of about 2100 residents.

The main reasons put forward for rejecting the community's plea was that the council was in caretaker mode and that a Supreme Court appeal would not be an appropriate use of ratepayers' money.

Walling ward councillor Len Cox said the fight could cost from $250,000 up to $1 million.

Chirnside ward councillor Richard Higgins said he could not support "writing a blank cheque'' for the council to fight the issue.

"McDonald's will throw every single cent at it. If we lose we could be up for millions,'' Cr Higgins said.

Cr Dunn said VCAT was an "undemocratic process''.

She apologised to the residents and said "I'm sorry, I did all that I could''.

The headline mentioned by the corporate media could not be further from the truth.

Gutless not, but rather subservient to the corporate giant's despite the wishes of the population.

Councils members are paid by the taxpayers, to serve the taxpayers.

If the desire of the majority is not to have McDonald's in their town, the council must respect this wish.

Residents would not be aware of this but, they have the right to sue to council.

McDonald's sell products that are unhealthy for human consumption, as they are carcinogenic, cause heart disease, obesity, addiction and various other illnesses.

City Council voting fraud

In certain areas of Australia currently there are City Council elections, where the masses must vote, even given the fact that we (allegedly) live in a democracy.

Information has been obtained by corpau, from a source within the industry that fraud is occurring on a grand scale.

The extent of the fraud is Australia wide, and it is explained in detail below how this is done, currently to this day.

In each electorate there is a list of voters who are registered for that particular area. Each candidate for the City Council has this list of voters. In the lists also appear people who are deceased, not living there anymore, and various other degrees of non attendance / residence.

Those ‘people’ are marked by the candidates, and their names are used multiple times throughout the municipality.

Also, each person is allocated a voting place where they must vote, so this is where they ‘most likely’ attend. Their names are also used in other places throughout the municipality, in favour of the candidate that is to pass through, by the order.

In Australia, when one attends a voting premises, no I.D. needs to be shown or checked, only a name is said to the administrative person.

When one writes on the voting slips, it is also done in pencil, which is then later rubbed out to favour the candidate who is to pass the election.

Also, the voting booths close at 6pm, and counting begins. At this time no person is allowed to have their mobile phone switched on, and there is no communications.

Whilst the counting is occurring at 6pm the local media news stations are in full swing informing the masses of the counted votes and who is ahead, which is impossible as there is no definite vote count or swing communicated externally.

The corporate media is in on this fraud at a national level, but the masses are powerless to expose this criminal activity.

The source of this information has confirmed that the information above is accurate, and that this has been going on for quite some time.

Troll slapped with intervention order after The Janoskians fight cyber bullies in court

A RELENTLESS and vicious cyber bullying campaign against pop teenage sensations The Janoskians has resulted in court action, with at least one troll being slapped with an intervention order for stalking and harassment.

The legal move comes as the trolls' latest vile stunt involved wrecking a charity auction backed by the band.
Last week the Melbourne lads, who recently signed a record deal with Sony and have thousands of fans and a current top 20 single with Set This World on Fire, announced they were leaving Facebook after too many hate-filled posts.

One particularly nasty anti-Janoskians Facebook page, which has more than 19,000 fans, has targeted the band for months with racist and homophobic slurs and YouTube videos threatening violence against its members.

Yesterday dozens of people reportedly turned up at the Melbourne home of 16-year-old Janoskians member James Yammouni after his address and phone details were published on the page, forcing his family to take the phone off the hook.

Recent posts have even told fans of the band to ''go kill yourself''.

One of the administrators of the hate page appears to be a teenage boy registered on Facebook under the name ''Tristan Barker'', who claims to be from Melbourne.

Trolls often use assumed names.

A personal safety intervention order is issued by a magistrate to protect a person from assault, harassment, property damage, stalking and serious threat.

Stalking can include contact by post, telephone, fax, text message or email and putting information online about a person.

Victoria Police said they were not involved with the issuing of intervention orders, but confirmed such orders could be ''specifically tailored'' to cover forms of online harassment and bullying.

They would not comment on whether they were investigating the hate page or ''Tristan Barker.''

In a YouTube video posted to the hate page on Thursday, ''Tristan Barker'' challenged Janoskians member Daniel Sahyoune to a fight.

He also said he is attempting to raise money via donations to erect a billboard in Melbourne comparing The Janoskians to cancer.

Another administrator of the page, a teenage male registered on Facebook under the name ''Nebz Adlay'' who also claims to be from Melbourne, last week scammed an online charity fundraiser auction by Janoskians member Beau Brookes, bidding $19,700 on an autographed guitar and then refusing to pay.

Dressed in an orange martial arts outfit, ''Nebz Adlay'' claimed responsibility for the scam in a brazen YouTube video published last Monday.

''You can f***ing come at me, come find me, see what happens,'' he says in the video, which has been viewed more than 36,000 times.

''If you come anywhere near me I will spirit bomb you. I know the technique, I know how to do it and I'm not afraid to use it.''

dailytelegraph.com.au 22 Oct 2012

The Janoskians are serial pests, that are a public nuisance, who's 'funny' videos could endanger the well being of the public.

The so called 'troll' has the right to express an opinion, just as the Janoskians have the right to annoy the general population.

Looks like the boys were not man enough to take a little back, and cried all the way to the courts.

The uneducated losers, will now have offers from the corporate media, and will be used as tools, to make lots of profits from pre pubescent girls, who will be very eager to part with their parents money.

The users comments really reflect what sort of Trailer Park Trash they really are.

Bail for child sex offender on porn charge

A known child sex offender in Adelaide charged with producing child porn has been granted bail.

The 31-year-old man from Adelaide’s western suburbs has been charged with two counts of producing child exploitation material and three counts of breaching reporting obligations required by the Child Sex Offenders Registration Act.

The alleged offences happened between April and October this year, a police spokeswoman said on Saturday.

The man was granted police bail and ordered to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates’ Court on November 21.

smh.com.au 20 Oct 2012

The Australian public can feel safe with the release of a known child sex offender, that the government is releasing.

The government 'purportedly' is playing an active role to charge child sex offenders, as can be seen by the policies relating to internet censorship.

The reality is that no legal system gives a damn about the child victims of sex offenders, as can be seen by the actions of the government's legals system.

Since these are the children of the masses, who are expendable meat, then sex offender will continue to operate, and be shielded by the government.

One of the most heinous acts against children supported by government.

There should be no reason  not to publicly name that person.

MikeTyson dinner in bad taste

AN intimate dinner with Mike Tyson for which guests pay $3000 each for private access to the disgraced former boxing champion has sparked outcry among women's groups and community leaders, who say it is in bad taste and should be banned.

For $60,000, Tyson will pose for photos, talk about his 1992 rape conviction, sexually transmitted diseases, frolics with prostitutes and his boxing career.
Premier Ted Baillieu, Lord Mayor Robert Doyle and the Victorian Women's Trust last night called on Victorians to boycott the event.
The close personal dining experience with the convicted rapist will be held after his "Day of the Champions" motivational speaking event at Festival Hall next month.
Food and wine will be served at the exclusive gathering, with guests to be seated at one table in a dressing room inside the venue. Tour manager Max Markson said it would be a "free-flowing conversation" with no topic off-limits.

"He'll take any questions - he's quite open about talking all about the controversial parts of his life, including his incarceration, venereal disease, splashing $100,000 at a time on prostitutes," he said.
Mr Baillieu issued a renewed call to Prime Minister Julia Gillard to overturn Tyson's Australian visa.
"Clearly, the Federal Government should not have granted Mr Tyson a visa," he said.
"It is inappropriate and the Prime Minister should intervene to overturn the minister's decision."
Cr Doyle said Tyson was not welcome in Melbourne.
"He's convicted of rape and violence, and I don't know what he brings to Australia," he said.
"I'd actually say to those considering going to this private event to think again."
Victorian Women's Trust executive director Mary Crooks backed a boycott, but challenged men who did attend to raise women's rights with Tyson.
"I'd be very curious about what his message would be to an elite $3000-a-head dinner and I'd be surprised if he showed any remorse," she said.

Australian politicians cannot escape their true calling of the criminal past of colonisation.

By bringing in more criminal trash (this time in the form of disgraced Mike Tyson), the up and coming criminals may have some tips.

Tyson a convicted rapist, together with unsportsmanlike behaviour (biting Evander Holyfield's ear during a professional boxing match) is truly an inspiration for the next generation of criminals.

Not only is it Tyson who is the disgrace, but also the promoters and politicians that let him into the country.

As long as the canon fodder pay $60,000 it is all ok.

Alarm over city bribes offer

CASHED-UP Asian developers have offered bribes and inducements to City of Melbourne councillors hoping for favourable planning treatment for their projects.

Councillor Ken Ong, who is warning of a ''subculture'' of corruption taking root in Melbourne, told The Sunday Age a developer offered him a big discount on an apartment in exchange for planning help on projects. Cr Ong refused.
Another councillor, who declined to be named, told The Sunday Age that he was offered inducements by Chinese developers in return for planning help. The offers were refused.
''If we don't bring this under control there will be a subculture developing in the investment fraternity, especially from new money coming from overseas, not just China,'' says Cr Ong, who oversees planning approvals at the city council.

Billions of dollars are flowing into Melbourne from Asian - mostly Chinese - investors wanting to park their money in what they consider an investment haven.
In the past two years, buyers from China, Malaysia and Singapore snapped up 85 per cent of large Melbourne sites intended for development, real estate agents CBRE estimate. These projects - 24 across the city and inner suburbs - will be worth $4 billion to Victoria, CBRE says.
Cr Ong, who is seeking re-election to the city council, described the apartment discount offer, made in 2010, as ''naive'' but said such naivety was common. He declined to name the developer. He told the developer he could only explain the planning process, as he did for others who asked for his help.
The Chinese and other Asian buyers now dominating large land sales and apartment projects across Melbourne are filling the gap left by local developers hamstrung by restrictive post-global financial crisis bank lending.
With Asian developers a new powerhouse in the Melbourne property market, Cr Ong called on Australia's foreign offices and business associations to better educate investors about government processes here.
''As chairman of planning I have seen that when people come here they don't know how to go about doing the business and they go through the wrong channels. They might end up having the impression that it's the same way they do business in other countries.
''Our objective is to make sure they get to invest here, that they get to develop and they don't end up with the wrong impression.''
Cr Ong said he was concerned local ''opportunists'' were advising the new generation of investors that local and state government backing for projects could be won through payments and gifts.
Asked to identify the ''opportunists'', Cr Ong said he was referring to property and planning consultants: ''People who say 'no problems', you can build whatever you want. It might cost you some money''.
Cr Ong, who is of Malay-Chinese background, said he always advised newcomers to work with established and reputable town planning companies and architects - ''people who know our rules''.
British property consultancy Savills, which has a long history of involvement in China, agrees more educational work should be done with property investors and developers.
''It is understandable that new investors and developers to Melbourne would assume that business was done the same way here,'' Savills Australia's head of research, Tony Crabb, said. ''I don't think anyone has told them any different.''

Asian drug money has funded many city projects, and also used for property purchases in wealthy 'leafy' suburbs of Melbourne (as well as other cities), in multi-million dollar laundering projects, but no one is allowed to speak of this openly.

The government has no interest in stopping this sort of crime, as it turns the economy.

Corrupt town planners, politicians, and legal representatives ensure this type of business will keep on flourishing.

Exposing the names of the people involved, will do nothing but endanger the whistle blower.

Australia Tax Office to guard 'lost' superannuation funds

LOST superannuation accounts with balances of $2000 and less will be transferred to the Tax Office and held in trust until they are claimed, the Government will announce in today's mid-year Budget update.

The measure will protect lost retirement savings from unnecessary fees charged by super funds, while also boosting returns for all super savers by reducing the cost to funds of administering these small "lost" accounts.
It will also generate extra revenue for the Government as it seeks to balance its books.
A Treasury analysis found lost super accounts with balances as low as $1000 were being slugged with average insurance charges of $169 a year, meaning they would disappear after six years.
The Tax Office already manages lost super accounts with less than $200. This threshold will increase to $2000 and, for the first time, the Government will start paying interest on the accounts at the rate of inflation.

"The introduction of interest means that not only will these small lost accounts no longer be eaten up by fees and charges, but they'll actually retain their value in real terms until they're reunited with the lost member,'' Mr Shorten said.
"There are 3.4 billion lost super accounts in Australia with a combined balance of $17.7 billion.''
There would also be a benefit for all super savers because, presently, the cost to super funds of having to administer these small lost accounts reduced overall returns by 0.1 per cent a year on average.
Eliminating this cost would boost the retirement balance of a 30-year-old worker on average full-time earnings by about $10,600.
Consumer group Choice chairwoman Jenni Mack said the move to protect lost super was an "extremely good step forward" on what had been an "intractable problem'' since the introduction of compulsory superannuation two decades ago.
"Fees have been exceeding earnings on these lost accounts and they have been going backwards at an increasingly fast rate. This new policy means you're going to get no fees and you're going to get interest.
"It's really good for people who lose track of their superannuation and they are typically young people, part time and casual workers and disproportionately they are women. This means that when they do aggregate their accounts there's going to be something of meaning there.''
The Government expects to earn some extra revenue from the measure which will be included as a saving in the mid-year Budget update, to be released today.
This is because once balances are transferred, the government will be able to generate a return in excess of the interest it will pay.
But Ms Mack said this was reasonable and still a big improvement for savers on losing money as they presently did.
"If the Government is managing this money that's probably a reasonable rate of return over the long term because there are costs generated in doing this. Vulnerable consumers are going to be better off."
People can search for lost super using their tax file number via the Tax Office's online SuperSeeker tool available at www.ato.gov.au.

Another government sponsored fraud worth hundreds of millions of dollars in interest per annum to the government, which the corporate' media is curiously quiet about.

Documents exist outlining the details of how the interest is earned, how much and where from.

This information is kept secret from the general populous, but none the less this type of transaction is still a criminal offence.

Anyone prepared to take this matter to the corrupt courts in a class action style?

Talk of drug arrest sends star Psy-cho during interview

HE won over the Australian public with his cuddly and quirky demeanour during his promotional visit. But it seems Korean pop juggernaut Psy wasn't without problems during his brief Australian tour.

Psy (real name Park Jae-Sang) brought an abrupt end to a radio interview after being asked about his 2001 drug arrest, and subsequently banned all further interviews with the broadcaster.
Melbourne announcer Matt Tilley, of Southern Cross Austereo's Fox FM, sparked the dummy-spit late last week when he raised the topic of Psy's drug dalliance, asking the Gangnam Style singer about his arrest for possessing marijuana in 2001, which apparently resulted in a fine.
While the audio of the interview has since been wiped from the Fox FM website, it's understood Psy quickly ended the interview and walked out of the studio, indicating to Fox FM producers that he would not conduct any more interviews with the network "or any affiliates".
Fox FM's content director Dave Cameron said Psy's reaction was a shock.
"Psy apparently doesn't like to talk about anything pre-Gangnam Style and got his nose out of joint, and then pulled the pin on the rest of the interviews," Cameron said. "We were never warned by the record company not to approach him with interesting questions about his life before Gangnam, and so it was a complete shock and disappointment to us."
Psy's walkout was a rare blip for the South Korean who is famously protective of his past - in particular the drug arrest in question, which he rarely discusses.

Another piece of Entertainment Trash supported by the law, and the corporate media.

The masses are  taught (via television programming) that Australian policy towards people entering the country suspected of criminal activities or drug convictions, is very strict. This 'fact' can be supported by the various flavours of border security programs aired on television.

On television, New Zealanders are shown to not being able to enter the country if suspected of criminal activity, of which drug possession is one of.

Not so when it comes to the 'Entertainment Industry', as shown in the case of Park Jae-Sang.

To keep the masses dumbed down,  the corporate media promotes trash like Psy, to keep the herd entertained, whilst at the same time making million from the plebs.

Tens of thousands rally in London against austerity

Tens of thousands of people have marched through London and other British cities in protest against spending cuts by prime minister David Cameron's struggling coalition government.

Marchers carried signs reading "No cuts" and "Cameron has butchered Britain," condemning the austerity measures introduced by Mr Cameron's Conservative-led coalition in a bid to reduce Britain's huge deficit.

Police said they dealt with a number of incidents of "anti-social behaviour" as breakaway groups of anarchist protesters protested outside major companies including McDonald's and Starbucks in the Oxford Street shopping hub.

Scotland Yard did not provide an estimate for the turnout on the 4.8-kilometre march route, but organisers said police had told them around 100,000 people attended.

"This is not a crisis that is going to sort itself out through cuts," 19-year-old protester Jonathan said.
"We've had a double-dip recession now, and we are here today to show we are not going to stand it any longer."
In Scotland's biggest city Glasgow around 5,000 people took part in a separate protest while there was also a march in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Britain climbed out of a deep economic downturn in late 2009 but fell back into recession at the end of 2011.
The coalition said after coming to power in 2010 that most ministries' budgets would be be cut by a fifth over four years, while other unpopular measures include a tripling of university tuition fees and a public sector pay freeze.
Protesters paused to boo at Mr Cameron's Downing Street residence, and shouted "Pay your taxes!" at a Starbucks coffee shop.
Starbucks was embroiled in a row this week after it was reported that the US giant paid just $13.8 million in British corporation tax over 14 years.
A smaller group of protesters, many of them masked and clad in black, gathered in Oxford Street to demonstrate against big brands accused of tax avoidance.
"There's plenty of tax-avoiding businesses round here and they're being targeted today - companies like Starbucks, Topshop and Vodafone," 18-year-old protester Johnny, a student at London's Goldsmiths University, said.
Dozens of police in high-visibility jackets stood in lines outside branches of McDonald's, Starbucks and other firms, blocking protesters from entering, while police helicopters buzzed overhead.

At a huge rally in Hyde Park at the end of the march, opposition Labour leader Ed Miliband attacked Mr Cameron for "cutting too far and too fast".
"He clings to an economic plan that isn't working," Mr Miliband told protesters.
But the crowd booed Mr Miliband when he said that any government in power at the moment would have to make some spending cuts.
Mr Cameron, whose Conservatives share power with the centrist Liberal Democrats, insisted that spending cuts were needed to balance Britain's budget.
"Today Ed Miliband is headlining a rally calling for an end to every single spending cut needed to clear the deficit," he said on his Twitter account.
The protest comes after the Conservatives were hit on Friday by a fresh barrage of accusations they are a party of the rich and are out of touch with ordinary voters.

Protests like this will soon become illegal.

London is officially the city with the most surveillance cameras.

All the protesters have been tagged, and this information has been stored for future reference.
